I’m From
I am from the football field
from helmets and cleats
I am from the paint on the turf
the rubber pebbles
which get into the hardest to reach places
as if they were trying to hide
I’m from my family
from mother and father
I’m from my friends
and the acquaintances
from ups and downs
I’m from making peace
with an apology
that’s as nice as a dandelion on a summer day
I’m from both sides of the tree
spicy food and chocolate
From my grandma I haven’t met
to the cigarette that killed her,
My head is a cage withholding memories
trying to get out,
while I try to contain the emotions
I am those memories
bad and good
those memories created me
I am from the football field
from helmets and cleats
I am from the paint on the turf
the rubber pebbles
which get into the hardest to reach places
as if they were trying to hide
I’m from my family
from mother and father
I’m from my friends
and the acquaintances

I’m from making peace
